Stanford linguists interning across the globe

Linguistics BA students Anna-Marie Sprenger and Julia Mendelsohn will both be completing internships in Germany this summer. Anna-Marie will be working on a project about case marking across languages, under Martin Haspelmath's supervision at the Max Planck Institute in Leipzig. Julia will work with Dr. Stefanie Jannedy at the Leibniz-Zentrum Allgemeine Sprachwissenschaft in Berlin. She'll be doing sociophonetics research on Kiezdeutsch, a youth variety spoken in multi-ethnic urban areas.

Linguistics graduate students are also working as interns in a variety of places this summer: Michael Hahn will be in Paris at Facebook, Sebastian Schuster will be in Menlo Park at Facebook, and Yiwei Luo will be in Boston.
