Norcliffe awarded a Marie Sklodowska-Curie Fellowship

Congratulations to Elisabeth Norcliffe (Ph.D. '09), who was awarded a Marie Sklodowska-Curie Individual Fellowship over this past summer. The fellowship will grant funding for Elisabeth's work at the Department of Psychology at the University of York starting the end of this month.

Elisabeth will be collaborating with Professor Asifa Majid and Professor Fiona Jordan on her project titled "The Lexicalization of Perceptual Experience." Drawing from linguistic typology, cultural anthropology, psychology, and the evolutionary sciences -- a very cross-disciplinary approach! -- she will be investigating how perceptual experiences are encoded by verbs across languages and exploring whether cognitive biases shape aspects of this lexical field.
