Resources for Visiting Scholars and Students
The Department of Linguistics accepts a small number of Visiting Scholars (Stanford’s designation for those who have earned a Ph.D. or equivalent) and Visiting Researchers (the designation for visiting graduate students) each year. The department is unable to offer any salary, stipend, or tuition support to those who are accepted as visitors.
“Visiting Scholar” is an official University designation for established scholars with a Ph.D. or equivalent degree who wish to be in residence at Stanford for a limited period of time.
"Visiting Student Researcher" is an official University designation for graduate students enrolled in Ph.D. programs at other universities who wish to visit Stanford for a limited period of time.
