Van Hofwegen co-recipient of Bloomfield Book Award

Alum Janneke Van Hofwegen (Ph.D. ‘17) is a co-author of “African American Language,” the 2022 recipient of the Linguistic Society of America's (LSA) Leonard Bloomfield Book Award.

Other authors include Mary Kohn, Walt Wolfram, Charlie Farrington, and Jennifer Renn.  The Bloomfield Committee cited the book for “making a remarkable and unique contribution to the study of African American language.”
