Stanford linguists in Finland

Paul Kiparsky is a keynote speaker at the "Versification: Metrics in Practice" conference in Helsinki, Finland, next week from May 25 - 27. The title of his talk is "On the Functional Differentiation of Metrical Forms." Grad student Daniel Galbraith will also give a talk at the conference, titled "A Constraint-Based Account of Faroese Ballad Meter." Alum Lev Blumenfeld (Ph.D. 2006) will also be in attendance -- Lev's title is "Textsetting as Strengthened Meter: Evidence from Georges Brassens."
