Stanford Linguists at the Annual Meeting of the American Dialect Society

Stanford linguists and alumnae will give a talk at the Annual Meeting of the American Dialect Society in Salt Lake City, Utah, on January 6, 2018. Teresa Pratt, Janneke Van Hofwegen (Ph.D. '17), Annette D’Onofrio (Ph.D. '16), Penelope Eckert, and Robert Podesva will deliver a talk, titled "How much wiggle room is there in a shift?", at the Panel on Chain shifting in the Third Dialect: A dialogue on the similarities between the California and Canadian Vowel Shifts.
