Earlier this week, the New York Times published an article, "There Is a Racial Divide in Speech-Recognition Systems, Researchers Say," citing the PNAS journal article "Racial disparities in automated speech recognition." John Rickford was interviewed and quoted!

The Stanford Report also found the research newsworthy, citing it in their article "Stanford researchers find that automated speech recognition is more likely to misinterpret black speakers." Their article quoted study lead author Allison Koenecke and computational engineering professor Sharad Goel.
