Kirrkirr, software co-developed by Chris Manning for the exploration of indigenous language dictionaries, featured in a recent article in The Conversation entitled “Six decades, 210 Warlpiri speakers and 11,000 words: How a groundbreaking First Nations dictionary was made”.  The article discusses the project to create the Warlpiri Encyclopedic Dictionary, which involved the efforts of several department members.  The volume is the first dictionary to have been a finalist for the Australian Book Industry Awards, listed in the 2023 “Small Publishers’ Adult Book of the Year” category.
