Manning serves as associate director for new Stanford AI Institute

Chris Manning now serves as an associate director for Stanford's newest institute, the Human-Centered Artificial Intelligence (HAI) Institute, which aims to advance AI technology and applications with a human-centered focus. We're excited to have one of our best linguists involved in this interdisciplinary program and hope for many exciting and interesting collaborations.

Chris was also one of the panelists for their inauguration and symposium last week on March 18, which featured welcome remarks by Stanford President Marc Tessier-Lavigne and keynote remarks by Bill Gates. Of note, Michael Frank also took part in the symposium as part of their lightning talks session.
