The 47th annual Boston University Conference on Language and Development (BUCLD 47) is taking place this weekend from November 3-6, 2022. Alum Dr. Marisa Casillas (Ph.D. '13) is contributing in multiple ways.  She is the speaker at the student workshop, "Child language fieldwork: A discussion on the why and the how."  She is also a co-author of three talks:

  • With Kennedy Casey: "From doggy to dog: Developmental shifts in children's use of register-specific words."
  • With Isabella Di Giovanni: "Infant-directed communicative acts in a Tseltal Mayan community."
  • With Kasia Hitczenko and multiple others: "The development of canonical proportion continues through 6 years of age"

And finally, she and Michael Frank, Professor of Psychology and, by courtesy, of Linguistics, are among the participants in a symposium titled "Methodological advances in gaze-based measures of language understanding."
