Department Hosts NACLO Open Round

Our department recently hosted the 2023 North American Computational Linguistics Open Competition (NACLO) Open Round on January 26.  About 60 high school students attended the event, where they competed to solve linguistics problems and “learned about the diversity and consistency of language, while exercising logic skills.”  Among this year’s organizers were Ph.D. student Jiayi Lu and undergrad majors Matthew Early and Ji Hun Wang.
