Chua wins Introductory Seminar Excellence Award

Congratulations to our undergraduate Ethan Chua, who won the Introductory Seminars Excellence Award! Ethan came to Stanford planning to be a physics major, but is now considering switching to Linguistics. He spent his summer documenting the language of the Tinggian community in the northern Philippines.

Ethan earned this award for his essay, "Language Revitalization Plan for Northern Pomo, a California Indigenous Language," written for Sarah Ogilvie's class, "These Languages Were Here First: a look at the indigenous languages of California" (LINGUIST 64Q). The Introductory Seminars Excellence Award recognizes exemplary individual or group projects in Stanford's Introductory Seminar courses.
