Charity Hudley Co-recipient of Best Paper Award

Congratulations to Courtesy Professor Anne Charity Hudley of the Graduate School of Education, who, along with co-authors Kendra Calhoun, Mary Bucholtz, Jazmine Exford, and Brittney Johnson, received the 2022 Best Paper in Language award from the Linguistic Society of America (LSA).  Their paper, “Attracting Black students to linguistics through a Black-centered Introduction to Linguistics course”, was cited as having “launched an essential conversation about how to structure inclusiveness into our curricula.”
